Please check out my new track 'Mr. X' and post your comments here!
Recently got inspired by the "Resident Evil" series. Awesome games, you should play them!
Beefed the kick, updated patterns and sounds, and tried some mastering (for what it's worth). Sounds better now.
Mr. X was brutal man, so tough to kill! Resident Evil has always been one of my favorite games.
Well honestly I'm really impressed with your track mate, the structure and drop are really solid. The first layer of hats in the beginning sound kind of robotic to me, but the second layer that you throw over them helps out and once the kick and snare come in its not that big of a deal because of how punchy the drums are, they are processed well. Like the melodies.
Can't really find anything constructive to say, I'm kind of a sucker for this style. EQ might help the mixdown a little bit more. Bigs up though anyway mate.
reckon it could of dropped a bit sooner into that breakdown. the 16 bars before could be chopped imo.
drop is good but there is some sight mix issues. That high sound is a little too high imo and the reece could do with coming up a touch. might sound nice with some more lower mid in there too.
Perhaps duplicate the current bass/reece then filter it off to around 300-400Hz then mix it in quietly underneath to fill it out
some more sub would be nice too.
Really love this track but the mix is holding it back from being a real ripper.
Good work!
How wuold you feel about me having a go at a remix once you've done with it?
i like it.. very creppy sounding.. but that reverb sound that kinda sounds liek a high string that comes in and out. its a lil too loud.. i rele like the vocal clip u used too it fits very well.. not my style of drum and bass but its good
Thick, Dark. Atmo is a tiny bit too loud in the mix. Into Pad Could use a tiny bit of lowpass filtering as a whole. Vocal sample fits in there weirdly and fades weirdly. Work on that. Kick could also punch some more, sidechain compression? Thick TECH feel! YEAH! Wanna smash an egg between my legs. UMBRELLA!
In the beginning, you should repeat the 2nd measure of the beat 7 times instead of three times, to give a more powerful awesomeness effect.
Can't add anything else atop that, I could learn more from you than the other way round. Great atmosphere, great bass, great beat, great movie samples, great structure.
