I am having to use my internal soundcard on my laptop at the moment and I have just reverted back to good old XP Pro and the audio sounds different than in Vista. By this I mean in XP the sound seem slightly muffled, like there is very little LPF on the sound. Sound Forge display the sound as it should be but Windows it's self and Cubase SX2 are giving me the muffled typed of sound. I have installed the correct audio drivers and I have gone though all the options for my soundcard and the EQ for the card is off so everything should be level... I am a bit miffed as to what is going on.
The card is a Realtek one.
