Please check out my new track 'Drum Loop' and post your comments here!

Hi guys. I'm trying to learn how to make decent sounding drums and I'd really like some constructive criticism on this loop I made from scratch. Everything from structure to equalizing is welcome. Thank you in advance Smile

Its pretty cool I guess. The kick could have a it more punch try layering it more with some thicker and more punchy kicks! The snare sounds a little Poppy but that might just be what your going for. Try to tighted up the hi hats by playing with the samples delay sustain and release. This could be a tiny bit tighter. I like the roll glitch effect. EQ sound great as it is but the snare sound is a little annoying the third time around.

not sure what you've done to make it have a wider stereo image but take it off.
Sounds bad.
Plus when summed to mono it'll sound pants.

If you want more width to your beats try panning single sounds/hits out a little.

Also use short stereo reverbs on snares and kicks can make things sound wider without causing potential phase problems.

Too much reverb, too much stereo.
Loop itself isn't too bad for a first one.

Snare sounds really wide or panned to me. Makes it hard to hear the whole thing at once.

Hats are to splashy imo it all merges into each other too much.

Nice vibe to it tho. kick could punch a bit more 80-100hz.

you got way to much low end for drumz .

ok cut out all below 80 to 90 hz dnb should not have such a low end kick as house and breakz and others its a more dry mid low pitchy kick but ofcorse you make it sound how you want but you dont want low s below 80 90 hz in the drums as to save room in the mix for bass . try aplying this to the same drum loop and compare them and then you need to know what range in hz to boost and where not to and understand what you doing in eqing drumz
try spliting you drumz in to 4 groups low , midlow, mid, hi, then you will have benner control of sound overall. read up on eqing to have a better idea of what you should do try new things till you find it .

just know there are thing such as rules gide line to making a pro dnb tune theres much more but you will learn that all part of it

good luck with you tune making mate good start

Oei, STEEEEEREEEEOOOO, the break itself is not bad at all. Take the stereo separation off the kick and snare and put a LITTLE on everything between it. Kick needs some eq'ing or pitch it up. Make it pop around 100hz. Snare needs some punch too. Not bad if you remove the stereosep. Cheerz
