This one rolled out in about 2 hours after stumbling upon the main bass sound. I've been retouching and mastering it several times with 3-5 day breaks in between to get my ears neutral again.

This mix is HYPER clean I must say. Lacking in some fundamental mid and sub ranges though. Needs to get "filled out". That stab synth noise is really grating on the ears and unpleasent as well. Nice bass line variations and slick drum programming. Sounds like you got a drum and bass fundamental but this track still needs a number of more novel parts to make it stand out. Kick drum is really great. FX are well done also. Nice track Drone.
ez mate, nice crystal clear steppy beat got that "old skool" feel to it as a lot of ur stuff does (in a good way ofcourse). the hi stab sound could possibly be toned down or processed a bit further (possibly a touch of reverb / delay / detuning etc). some great work on the bass really wicked sounds u got here
i would suggest some more fx'd vocals sprinkled thru the track to add a bit more interest as the tune progresses
overall a polished tune that could be filled up just that little bit more - nice work mate!
As a big Photek fan, this is uber cool for me mate. That bass really makes this tune. It's so cold, minimal, almost lifeless. Love it.
I listened to a few versions of this a few weeks ago and the overall sound is now audibly thinner and duller. Not by a huge amount, but the lows are not full enough like Deth and Ketz said. Also, the snare is a bit thin too. It needs a touch more boom and thump. Same with the kick really.
I've just done an A>B listen with an older version and, yes, the mix is not as full and crisp. My guess is that the .be player has something to do with that (which kinda makes you appreciate the tracks that sound good on .be even more I guess).
Having said that, I would much rather listen to a really cool tune like this that still needs work on the mix than a boring tune that is produced well. Much rather!

lol@ title. got a real oldskool vibe this! pretty dancy shit you got going on witht that screeching synth which goes great with the beats
around the first minute mark a change is needed imo, it does get switched up a bit later on, but a bit earlier and a more fundamental change would be better
as Riv pointed out, the sound could be "filled up" although I can hear that wasnt the intention? anyhoo this got great remix potential

This pretty much sums it up for me, absolutely amazing!
The mixdown is unparalleled, very good imo. Brilliant sound selection. Some of the synths sound a little too dry, they would probably sound better to me with a touch of reverb.
But two hours of work man, fuck.. very impressive. Keep up the good work mate.

I've forgotten just how many times this has been been on replay..
So many elements in this that make it roll perfectly Battle..
Some serious pro sounding stuff here. Love the ambient sounds and the odd breaks in the tune. Damn that snare is so good, could cut through metal, very crisp feel to the eq on this one.
All the levels are sounding great on my system, really can't complain other than mentioning that grating sound, would be better imo to have it gradually fade out with some delay, its the only element that makes me realise im not listening to a promo off the Metalheadz website..

My only real criticism is you sound quality. The drum are lacking bass my friend. The sub bass sounds fantastic though.

I first had more low end in the drums, but there just wasn't enough room in the low end to fit everything in (sidechaining and all) so I went for a more junglish approach and set the drums a tad higher in the mix. Not to everyone's taste I see though.

wouldnt worry about that though. you got rock solid base here for a great tune and a couple of smart comments in the thread so who cares about some stupid votes?

, love the drums man really nice, i reckon the kick could be a little more weighty. the bass is completely sick though mate. reminiscent of alix perez, which is a huge compliment man. love some of the fx too man. great work there. very well done mate you pulled off the sound with ease.
