Great style exercise. I'm not a big fan of Chinese music myself though, but my taste is irrelevant here. Very entertaining, good use of samples. Good mixing of styles.
Some things are panned in quite an extreme way, I would try to avoid that if I were you.

This is nice, like the strings, like the drumz a little more after the ghost snare layer is added. Some of the drum edits can come up a little in volume, maybe a little compression on those loops that are softer can fix that. Like overall ideas and sound brutha. Keep at dis one! Cheers.

I listened to it several times now. It is still a bit rough but it is very nice to listen to already, really refreshing.
The oriental instruments are really nicely played, full of emotion with a lot of dynamics and expression. Love the lazy timing on the strings. They are also laid out very nicely in the stereo field and are very well mixed, it all fits together. Melodies are wonderfully ethnic, big props for that, I was very impressed
There is still some work on the dnb part, especially in the drums and buildup. The drum needs some good breakdowns, the current loop sounds and rolls well but variation on it is a bit limited atm. The track could use some more sparse drum parts to build up and down from the full blown drum rhythm. Try to thin it out at some points rather than drop the entire rhythm. Bass is good I think, it beefs up the chinese melodies and fits in.
One thing I was wondering: it seems like you are mixing several ethnic instruments, but not only chinese. I'm hearing a koto in there, a japanese instrument. And what is the name of the stringed instrument that is played with a bow?
edit: according to wikipedia the koto is derived from the chinese instrument 'guzheng' so that's probably what I'm hearing
I just went on an hour long trip through oriental instruments in wikipedia, it was very interesting, thanks for the inspiration!!
