I've noticed that most tracks have some vocals, even if its just 2 words.
Now, my question is, if I record my own voice, can I make it sound like the vocals in this song?
yeah man u can do pretty much anything with a clean recorded vocal, theres countless different fx / combinations u can use to get sum nasty results
that tune is wicked sounds like a whispered vocal just play about with some reverb n delay to start with (experimentation is key!), u can detune, distort, phase, filter it, also for dark vox try pitching them down normaly sounds cool

Render the whispering voice from that synth, and then pitch it down.

Haha, I did. I recorded my own voice, and used some efects. ^^
My advice on getting a dark force of vocal is to
Pitch it down to give it some gruff,
Then distort with a distortion plugin, my advice is camel phat =]
Then surgically eq the fluxing frequencies and roll off the bottom end
Mix it down and bobs your fathers brother
Try layering another differently distorted version of the original that hasnt been pitched together with the other, but give it a little splash in stereo
if your using fl, try out the vocodex/vocoder, use the speech to make it say w,e then add the vocoder/ex to the mixer chanel thingy, and you can play with that make it sound like a woman man darker grittier etc.
