Please check out my new track 'Open Your Mind (no Vocals)' and post your comments here!

This is the first tune I have created with Cubase 5 and I am quite happy with it. The original has audio samples from the movie Totall Recall where Kuato is asking Quaid: "Open Your Mind to me ... please, Open Your Miiiiiiiiiiind"

Please be honest and tell me what you think. I might agree with you ...

Right then, ya intro synth are to preset and have no atmosphere to them. Your drums are to rigid and robotic. The kick needs more thud. Your main baseline lacks power. Again, like your intro pad, it sounds preset. You need a sub under it aswell to give it power.

The sub you do have, doesn't stand out and add much to the tune.

The track could do with a lot more going on. Sounds just like a couple of loops really and gets a bit boring fast. It lacks structure and needs more interesting melodies. No real work or imagination has been put into a drop as such. The track just goes on and on with not much happening.

Thanks Happy

Like the intro, nice percussion. Like the Snare. Pads sound good. Like the synth on the drop, though it can use some more edits and chops. Cheers. Z

ilike the sound you got there but theres no kick drum sounds all muddy and low i would work on that cuz when it drops it has no drive other than that itS good for the style just needs some kinda kick and abit of direction while the main drop is playing. good tune though man .

theres no wear near e nuff goin on 4 a track of 7 min if u find any mo than 2 bars identical repatin i say its gonna get old fast.

liked the drums in the intro but i think they lack weight in the dropthe kik sounds nice n heavy but its cos its peakin in the sub range so it dont sit in the mix wiv the sub u need to layer a mo punchy kic wiv it eq out the sub plently tuts on here bout that.

like that mid bass sound but but dont think its sounds good e nuff to carry the whole melody of a riff on its own needs (at least) another diff soundin mid bass synth mixed in wiv it to pull off a gud riff.

dont think u sub is loud clear e nuff brick wall compresion it and like b4 that sub bit needs sumfin wiv it not e nuff on its own.

nice snare.
