I thought this might be of interest to members of drumnbass.be. On the newly launched Knowledge site (kmag.co.uk), we've just announced an exclusive remix competition to help celebrate Technique Recordings being '10 years in the game'. Can you do this competition without buying the track? I already own the vinyl and actually have a rip of it on my computer. Or do you 'have ' to buy it to enter Confused

Sorry that you have to buy the track (£1.99) to get the free stems for the remix comp., its not perfect I know. I think Technique should charge for the hard work put into the label & tunes, but in hind sight maybe we should not have linked the comp. to a purchase. I'm afraid the rules are set for this one, but I'll bear this in mind for any future remix comp.

To tell the truth, I think it is a bit unfair having to buy the track when I already own a perfectly good copy on vinyl, which I'm sure I could get most of the samples from.

Can you tell me how the samples are produced? Are they straight forward rips from the track or individual unmixed samples before the track was completed? I might be compelled to part with cash if they are unmixed samples Wink

Don't get me wrong, technique have released some fantastic track, but I don't want to pay twice for something I already own Happy
