Right then, I'm trying to go over to using the NN-XT for drums, simply for the same reason as everyone else, more control.
The thing is, am I correct in thinking that you can not load a REX loop into the NN-XT and export it to the sequencer the same way you can with Dr Rex?
If so, how do you go around this problem without place single hits for you tracks? Do you just output the rex into the sequencer using a Dr Rex and move the loop to the NN-XT track or is there a better way?
I am also considering making a NN-XT combi for each REX (drum loop) I use and saving it for other projects, just for ease and speed, instead of having to seperate the kick, snare, hats on each project. Do any of you do a similar thing?

if you load an individual sample from the folder icon in the extended view you can then locate your rex loop and youl notice it wont just be one sample it will be seperate hits
highlight em all ( click the top then shift click the bottom) and press open
then just right click on the newly created zones
and click automap samples chromatically. this will put them all on a one note zone and will be much better than doing it manually
as with the midi files your best bet is to program the rythms manually in the midi editor. really quick and easy and you can mess with it till your happy etc
i did all my drums in one nnxt in this way just kept loading breaks and filtering all the elements and adding small env tweaks. hope that helps

nnxt is great as you can have 8 channels coming out of it which is more than enough because you can choose an output for each sample and one output can hold loads of samples
in the sequencer, the way I most comonly set it up is that I have one sequencer track for nnxt divided into a couple of lanes each for kick snare percussion etc. sequencing is loads easier that way obviously as you can easily rearange / strip down / enrich drums loops later. its not a problem if you start making your tune using only one lane as its very easy to divide it afterwards into more
nnxt = fool proof
