There's massive VST's out there that need only one note to be stunning already...
East-West Quantum Leap's Symphonic Orchestra, or their SILK, Garritan Personal Orchestra,
but really, East-West Quantum Leap has the most kickass sound that I know of. Expensive too, but the price is dropping. Their symphonic used to be over $2000, now for $930 you have that + like 5 of their other vst's

I am using Edirol Orchestral for strings, as well as, for any classical instrument you can think of.
The quality is amazing.

2nd that, the quality is fantastic throughout plus theres soooo many options for making things sound more realistic with it, dynamic sensitivity, envelopes etc......one of the best vst's out there imo...

I'm using Edirol Orchestra too, but i have a problem with it; FL Studio doesn't save the setup i make in edirol: so if I have like 6 edirol instruments I use, and I save the project, the instruments will kick back in default when I load it...
Anyone knows what to do to solve this? It's very anoying. And Edirol's quality is pretty good, but nowhere near EWQL's quality

yeh, got to system on the right-hand toolbar, you can save the instruments, reverb/ chorus presets etc....a better way i reckon tho is to bounce down the audio, more flexibility then with eq, panning etc.....why are you using 6 edirols? just load 1 and route it though an available midi port, then you can just create midi channels for each instrument getting its input from the same port, 6 edirols must be canning your cpu....

Hey hey, my dumbass-ness isn't that massive :p, I use those midiports just 6 of them (or more, or less), so I need to set 6 instruments again if it flips to default again.
I usually just name my midiouts and set that stuff again everytime... it's a pain in the ass lol

Edirol Orchestra isn't overly realistic, but if the orchestral part of a track is not the main focus then they do have some quite nice instruments
the harps and some of the strings are the best bits IMO, and I'm sure the drums may come in useful very occasionally
