Hey. I've been messing around/ producing for little while now. Picked up a fair few techniques in various area's but am still confused by compression. It seems to be a must to phatten up your drums (thats what I'm mainly talking about in reference to compression) but I just can't get my head around it.
Can anyone explain compression (mainly referencing to drums) in a simple way? (/also/if necessary the whole, gate, eq, compression thing in conjunction with each other, on drums)
I am running logic so would preferably be someone who runs logic to (for referencing purposes), or if you feel that doesnt matter woteva/ any suggestions for particularly good compression plugins? (mac compatible)
