This is normal for any flu/influenza tbh. It always reaches its peak in winter (in the northern hemisphere). But of course, viruses don't just come and go. They mutate to produce new strains which leave previously immune people open to infection from the new strain. Even those who have had swine flu and are now immune to it, may not be immune to a more virulent strain in the winter. None of this is unique to swine flu tho, it happens every year. I'm bored of the hype too. How many more highly qualified doctors do we need on TV telling everyone that it's not a deadly infection before the broadcasters calm the fuck down.

on a serious note, there is the global financial crisis and the way for farmaceuts to earn quick dough for their summer winter vacations is to sell a lot of drugs at once... so the equation is pretty simple, produce and spread a virus in order to sell a lot of antidote
I have it. Got sent home from work yesterday after 5 mins of being there, worked a split 13 hour shift the day before and came down with it on my break (i'm a chef, I couldn't arrange cover for the evening shift)
Don't feel too bad actually, I had worse flu in April. I'm not in any of the high-risk groups thankfully, however I will miss my nephews 6th birthday on Saturday for obvious reasons (plus my sis is pregnant so don't wanna risk it). I haven't reported the case yet so I'm not on Tamiflu, don't know if I will report it tbh (though I probably should to be on the safe side)
Trouble is, I really can't afford the time off and I'm sous-chef as well so it kinda fucks our kitchen up a bit.
