Just read on a blog form ZDnet journalist Mitch Ratcliffe that Facebook uses profile pics from their users in some "singles in your area looking for a date" -style adds, without asking permission.
It doesn't matter if you stated being single or not, they just use the pictures in a commercial ad to trick people into signing up to a dating service, which isn't free of course.
way to go facebook!

there you go... but when I spoke that facebook owns everything you upload, a few listened... they really do if you read carefully and you can do nothing about it, even after you delete your pictures and the whole account they STILL can use it for anything they wish... such as dodgy sites like that one

There have been reports about dubious practices on Facebook before. I'm still using it, but am not running any applications and will not upload any more pictures or other meaningful content to that site.

Let's see how long they can hold on to this...
If enough people feel offended by this they'll change strategy.
What's next? Photoshopping your head into porn pictures and threatening to send it to your missiz if you don't pay? How low can you go?
Atleast the dating site can be accused of making up false information to make paying customers believe they can get a date. That's plain fraud imo.

Maybe u can start a one man army against it
But I saw enough info and videos of what facebook can do when u sign onto it.
And i'm still on it , to know what party there is next week and to laugh my ass off with some stupid quotes from a friend etc...

dont know if, like myspace, music profiles are allowed and do people actually upload their own tunes????
@greyone: thats great, if it werent so much hassle Id create a bogus profile... but 90% of people put their real names and surnames, put in their adresses etc. which is just plain stupid

in the meanwhile a russian company is very much interested in buying facebook. theres been a number of offers already. dont know if they want it that desperately becaus eof its market success or theyre after its database of users
