on a side note.... well, a offtopic note maybe.... well maybe on topic ... fuck i can't even tell ...
anyways,
for pads, i agree with nothing below the 300-600hz area, or above 6khz, but i also find in the lead section 1khz-1.5khz to also be a spot that needs reduction. the warmth comes from teh 300-900hz section and the "breath" comes from the 3khz area, but the 1khz is the bite, which isn't needed much. even 4khz and up is wher ethe shrill comes in, and that's usually not need as much either...
just side notes on mixing the pad into the mix, because as he says, it doens't matter if it sounds good alone, it's got to sound good in the mix. these tips is why i love ogun, you can mix it into anything...
