recently whenever i make a bass sound and try bring it down low on the piano roll it gets all crackily and coarse sounding? ne ideas why?

its not clipping, volume is really low. and it doesnt sound good
,sounds like theres pieces missing for it? ill try upload a sample later if i can. i doubt its the synth unless zeta suddenly went from all powerfull to absaloute crap

then it could be your system having buffer underruns. post a sample and then maybe i can stop guessing. until then, check to see if you have prostate cancer.

When I move a note around on the piano roll I get this too. When you move it down by means of the mouse (I mean "drag" it) you'll hear every note that you pass by. When you get to the lower region the notes will last longer so multiple instances will be played at the same time causing the CPU to reach its limits and thus causing buffer underruns. When you play a bassline you should not have this problem though. Else switch the options "Cut itself" and "mono" to on.

have your tried eq'ing out the real low end, below say 25-30hz? use a spectrum analyser to check what frequencies the bass is hitting.....if your using z3ta, try sampling the synth sound and loading it back in as audio, might get better results that way cuz you could tweak the elasticity and pitch to make it sound better. or try changing the settings in audio settings, could be the sound card causing the problem.

i think it was noice cancelation from similar osc sounds, just layered a square underneath n it was fine

Playing several bass notes (chord-ish) might indeed cause this.
You solved it correctly imo.
