Ugh, I work in FL studio, so can't answer much technicaly specific. Still, you can try cutting the CRC and OUT on the bass sample, which will make the boom. Also, add Reverb for increased effect.

Easy to make... generate a low tone (eg 60Hz) using a square or sawtooth oscillator and put a filter and amplitude envelope on it. Make the attack times for both envelopes really short (0 if possible), put a short decay and a low sustain on the filter envelope and a short decay and medium high sustain on the amplitude envelope. Set the release on both to medium short.

This will make a synth bass style sub bass hit, if you want a more organic sounding sub bass hit, use a sine wave tone of a low frequency (eg 60 Hz) and layer it with a thud sample of your choice to provide the initial attack (eg a sample of a kick drum or a pitched down percussion instrument). Compress them together so you get the effect that the sine wave comes after the thud instead of both at once.

A nice deepening effect is to pitch down slightly (using another envelope or a triggered lfo) or to lower the low pass frequency of the filter during the sustain of the tone.

Reverb helps but muddles it up too, depends on what type of sound you're after.

I use fruityloops. if you got a thick sounding kick you can mess with fx3 dial and get it to boom or punch depending on which way you turn it. Also run it on an fx send with subsynth plugin or eq the lows up and the use loudness plugin to boost levels and then bring master volume after the boost down so it doesn't clip the channel.

You can do some pretty fat sine based subs using Reason's Mastrom synth... use both oscillators and tweak the Shift settings for instance.

For good Subs it should really only be Sine Waves. If you want mid bass too, like a reese or hoover, then create that as well using the same notes, and high pass it at about 65 Hz. To create the sub (play this at the same time) use an audio editing program to create a 41Hz sine wave This is E1. Load this into yur sampler of choice, set root not to E1 and track half an octave or so above and below. Layer this under your mid bass on a seperate track and set the levels of your two basses to taste. Be sure that you are monitoring with a sub, cause this method will go quite low (about 30 Hz)...

My favorites for subs:

Audio Sine
Sequential Circits Pro One
808 kick in a sampler
Subtractor

-D.

yea, i read on another site, about how some big dnb artists, usually start off with a 808 kick. strech it and then add flang distortion, and a touch of verb.
voila.
