what i want to do is be able to load drum loops i have made into any project and be able to assign new sounds to the parts. i hate having to write new drum tracks all the time. it's extremely time consuming and i loose focus of the track because so. i was thinking midi, but i can't get the midi file i created to load in separate channels. it loads all in one. any suggestions or instructions on how i can achieve this?

Make your drums in a separate project with one hits.
You could also load a break multiple times and use one instance for the kicks, one for the snares, one for the ghost hits etc... replace to taste and don't forget to layer to make new drums.
I prefer to make drum breaks apart from making tunes. When I want to make a tune I search through my library of breaks until I find a break that fits my needs (more or less) and edit it to fit the style I want to achieve.

OK, you are overcomplicating things to the max.
PM me an email adres so I can send you an example project.

One possible solution is to get a drum loop you'd like to use in future projects. Slice it with Fruity Slicer or SliceX. Arrange it the way you'd like it to be, or leave it like Fruity Slicer/X cuts.
Then, go to the piano roll of Fruity Slicer in that pattern (where you sliced the loop), and go to the menu of piano roll -> file -> save score as.
Save your score. Load your score and file every time you need the same loop cut in the same way.

The easiest way to save a score, in the piano roll, is to go to file/save score as and left-click and drag the menu to a folder in the browser.
Or, to save a lot of scores at once, go to file/export/project bones and choose a folder to save everything to.
Also, if you're using slicex you can replace regions with one shots by dragging a sample over the region you want to replace and pressing Ctrl. It might work out a bit easier to do this than keep copying the score, depends on the size of the break though.

I've sent over a looped Zip package (for FL) to cng361 to explain the whole thing.
If he likes it and finds it helpful I might ask chron to put it on here for future reference.

Anyone familiar with FL7-Slicer and FL8-Slice-X problems, seems like the tutorial didn't work completely because it was made in FL7 and played in FL8.
Is there some workaround to avoid incompatibilities like that? I guess FL8 only has slice-x on board?

Projects made in 7 should work fine in 8.
I suppose the easiest way to fix it is for you to upgrade to 8, why are you still using 7?

Because it does exactly what I want it to do and the people I collab with are on 7 too. I'm registered and everything, so it's deffo not a case of not finding a crack or something.

I didn't mean to imply you had a cracked version, I just wondered why anybody would still be using v7. If I were you I'd update it, and get the people you collab with to update as well, it's worth it just for slicex. never mind all the other updates and bugfixes.
