truly it takes about an hour to make the 10 seconds, overall, which isn't bad, compared to a half done track takes about 2 hours.

you bend rules, not break them. so if it's 8 bars, and you slowed the track down to 85 bpm at the end of the song, technically in the rules. I play D&D and that's what it is suppose to teach. To think outside of the box, and to try to bend the rules. So when life gives you lemons, you make a lemon battery to power a time machine and remove all lemons. 
There is a practical application to the restrictions of these rules. first, art really is made within restrictions. would NES's Super Mario Bros. music still sound so awesome if they used a live band instead of 4 instruments consisting of a triangle square sawtooth and noise? These songs for video games, that had to be looped over and over and were limited to such, as well as the noises they could make, spawned a new music genere. It created new style of music int he imagination.
seconadly, 10seconds is a long start up sound. so there is poeple that have had to make a 10 second rift for applications, games, operating systems, and with LESS then 10 seconds. I mean, even just a chord of notes says it. 10 seconds is long. what if it had to be 5 seconds.
I have already gone through something like this myself, trying to redo game sound,s and making a victory song/sound in grand theft auto 3 game sounds. I found it's fucking hard to make a song that melds in, AND is only a few seconds long.
I wanted to see you guys try to do it...
The limit is 10 seconds / 8 bars, but what if it was also, HAS TO BE HAPPY or HAS TO SOUND VICTORIOUS or HAS TO SOUND DEFEATED or HAS TO SOUND WELCOMING or HAS TO SOUND SCAREY. These are practical applications taht you can find for this. and find WORK doing this.
