If we start small (modest line-up concerning names, probably not quantity) it's plausible that you have a breakeven when there's no entrance, only profits by bar. If we start with bigger names, we definitely need to ask some entrance. Min 5¤ - max 10¤? And last but not least: how many people do we think we can get to come over? I know the drum'n'bass scene is quite ok, but the drumnbass.be-scene is way smaller (still wondering why so many parties are so undercrowded, lately.. Is is lack of interest or are there way too many parties?) If it's already in august - JimTV is not an option, their budgets & plannings are fixed 3 months up front. My contacts at StuBru are not that good as with JimTV, I don't know how it's done there - but I'm afraid that in the summer they won't accept anything anymore due to all the festivals etc, but I can try... If we want to do this in august already - I also don't think we'll be able to book any big names, it's only 1,5/2 months to go... You'll already have to hurry with preparations if you want a place that can house 200+ peepz filled - you should already start making pub right now, and nothing is fixed yet... I don't say it's impossible - and indeed - it would be a nice opportunity to try stuff if we can get this location for free. What I would say is that this time even we charge a little bit, so if it works out - we could do it a bit bigger (as in - with bigger names) next time with some reserve capital (less risk) Doesn't have to be that much, but it'll be easier next time if you have some reserve and the people who are prepared to invest money in it don't have to cough up everything. It's clear that this is a low-risk scenario if we have the place + sound for free, and we have a percentage on the drinks, but I think that if it's serious to get bigger afterwards that we really should build up some reserve that'll allow bigger things in the future. A lot of (money-related) things will have to be discussed though.
