OMG you're in one of those bands with singers who keeps their hands around the head of the microphone
Can't stand it when people do that
It's very amateuristic, makes your voice sound like shit when you do that, screws up the dynamics and increases the chances of feedback a lot!! Do this with a sensitive vocal mic (like a Neumann KMS105 or a Sennheiser condenser wireless) and you'll have feedback all the time! If you have the monitors loud it will even feedback with a stock SM58.
And for the front of house it's a nightmare too, the vocals sound like dog barking, all the frequencies that are needed for understanding the lyrics are gone, there's so much low end that you have to do really drastic EQ that fucks up the sound even more and the plosives (p- and b-sounds) come out so loud you have to compress the hell out of it and then you get chance of feedbacking off the front of house too!! Guess you guys have lots of trouble getting a decent vocal sound when playing live
And it makes you look like teenage hiphop wannabes too
OK well that's what audio engineers will think of you guys anyway, because we get the blame that the vocals sound awful
Thanks BTW for citing me as an influence, so no hard feelings
