Bad news... Got into an accident today and my car is total loss Crying It happened at only a block away from my home, a guy came driving up from the left at an insanely high speed and I couldn't brake in time. The impact was very nasty, the other car ended up against a tree on its side. Luckily nobody got injured, I got saved by my seat belt and air bag. Had a full check up at the hospital and the doctor said I'm fine, just a bit sore.
The other driver didn't have a driver's license, and stole the keys of his brother's car. He drove only a couple of streets at high speed until I got in the way...

Worst of all is that my car is 9 years old, which means I probably will not get enough from the insurance to buy a new car Frown

My misses was in the same boat about having an older car.
Was a great car, run well and was reliable and worth more than the fuckers at the insurance said it was!

Thankfully she has got some compo coming from the other driver for her whiplash/back injury which is still playing her up over 2 months later

No license and no (own car) so the guy probably isn't insured very well.
I hope this has a happy end.
Was it a crossing with "right side priority" (voorrang van rechts)?
Anyway, this isn't a court case. Driving without license = 100% guilty

Yeah I had priority luckily, but if he had come from the other side at that speed I would have hit him as well, and then it would've been my fault Roll Eyes

I'm going to phone up the insurance, garage and police etc, hope I can sort it all out asap.

hey Chron the important thing is that ur ok, car crashes can be nasty so its good that u came out of it with no major injuries, GeeZZ is right in the UK theres a whole industry based on compensation for these kind of things, i hope that u manage to get sumthin out of it, as u were in the right 100%

Good job you had a Focus. Even the older mark 1 model like yours had a good safety rating. The mark 2 and 2.5 are even better - they get a full 5 star NCAP safety rating. I've got a 2008 reg Focus. Totally love it - cheap to run, looks great, really fun to drive and very safe.
