update from studio one forum....
"We are planning to offer a fully featured timed out demo that will be downloadable from our site. So anyone will be able to try it before buying it. We're hoping to have this prior to the software shipping in August."
wow a daw creator that listens to its forum.

Development team are not exactly rookies.
Looks very promising indeed.
The peepz at Image-Line better get their act together if they want to be part of the DAW landsape in the future.

Any idea what this thingy will cost?
I'm afraid they won't offer a beatslicer though. Can't live without one.

from what i have read the slicing audio in the sequencer is real easy and it will feature an audio to midi option
so its pretty simple mate
was gonna get this but i gone with logic, but this app is really really gonna be good and fast, which is where the bigger daws miss out imo,

It really depends on the amount of native plugins they deliver and on the quality of those plugs ofcourse. But I got FL for €99 and it does all I need, except for bouncing/freezing which is a pain and auto latency compensation.
I really wonder if FL can solve some of these things in their 8.5 (which will be 9.0 when it gets released probably). If Image-Line manages to seriously improve these items I won't switch as I can use FL with my eyes closed (so to speak).

You could wait for a full version to be available for tryout "wink wink nudge nudge" and build your opinion on that. That's the way I got into FL studio.
It's weird though that all the magazines pick up Ableton in the elite club of Cubase, Protools, Logic and sometimes Reason. FL is always fully ignored but I don't have encountered a lot of corrupt project files in FL and it does what it has to do really.

i have tried fl b/d m8,
but its one of those things that i cant get my head around.
ppl have tried to show me and sent me tuts so i can follow wot they where doing, but i always get a little fed up with it and end up rolling a spliff and watching tv instead.
im not knocking fl in any way, use wot you like, and like wot you use.
im currently running 3 omnispheres, 2 z3ta's, one rmx, a shed load of breaks bused
and s1 is only at less than a 16th of cpu power,
in ableton id have to bounce all that, freeze or turn off the vsts to gain back some cpu power.
s1 seems very happy to do all this with plenty of headroom for more,
so more it shall get.

Wow...
Thanks for posting this, looks like somthing with the power of Cubase or Logic with the ease of use of FL.
Going through their youtube channel and seeing the mini tutorials they have has seroiusly made me consider buying this.
Have'nt seen much on midi or piano rolls though???
