Please check out my new track 'All Night Long' and post your comments here!
hi , well i got slated 4 a post i made the other day , on the way i said to EQ ur pads and fx with reason , sorry i wrote it wrong , but i was well in my right to complain , cus its the way i produce my tunes and i dont have the problems that were said would happen , and the way ive made this tune is the way is the way i wrote it 4 others to maybe learn !!!
all the pads n fx have been eq boosted , if it sounds shit and everything is conflicting , please let me know !!!
intro is nice for starters some nice sounds comin in and some cool fx as well man. the vocal is too heavily saturated imo needs to come forward more or swap the verb for a subtle delay that would probably make it sound much better. cant comment on the bass i think the verb may have been a tad overused though imo its a cool track and very layed back but i think the mix is missing a bit of definition. bring some instruments forward a bit by dropping the ammount of reverb and u got a cool track.
yeah the pads do work but if you were to fatten up the beat (which sounds a bit tinny and weak atm) as well as add some serious bass into this there will be no room for bassy pads
standard structure, beats are a little static, could use variation
not really fond of the fx usage which slow things down, but maybe that was the intention
tbh it all sounds decent but theres millions of tunes like this around. your name certainly doesnt do justice to the style of this tune
to sum it up decent soundquality but bland execution whcih could use some excitening
sub could be a bit more forward in the mix. everything else sounds good to me, mabye a bit too much reverb but it sounds great as it is.
seems to lack...movement and force a bit though(probably bad words to describe with) a really nice track but it sort of washes against you more than connecting with your heart. theres alot of tracks out there like this one so mabye add your own feel to it more.
just my opinions but yeah.
thanks for the listen

drums building in sound sick. i think ur strings have way to much low end. maybe roll off around 150 to 200hz. The reverb at :50secs is pretty smooth good transition sounds so far. looking forward to the drop. wow where did that vocal come from. sounds smooth and very nice. jealous.. i want it!! nice horn stab at 1:45. great intro. the strings though need to come dwon out of the bass freqs..
that horn is brilliant!
big drop. i could definitely see people ripping it up on this. i jsut think the strings are a bit much. but evertything elese sounds great. really dig ur snare!
Love the intro, great atmosphere, good buildup.
Sweet vocal touch, tons of reverb going on there, but that fits like a glove.
The drums lack a bit of tension it sounds like kick snare kick snare (four to the floor with snares on the odd beats) which takes out a lot of funkyness.
Bass could be a bit more upfront.

i agree that the vocal is a sweet find man! love the sax sample as well, maybe bring the drum fills forward just a touch so u can hear the rolliness more, anyways really like it mate
edit: could u tell me how u did the gate thing with the vocal in Reason pretty please?

This is really impressive stuff, some of the main things I liked about this:
- good variation of samples, by halfway you've built up a good vocabulary of sounds to mix in
- nice gradual build of the song, really has a good sense of progression
- Has a strong sense of identity - definitely hints at some of the more atmospheric producers out there, but the (ethnic?) wind instrument sample you include lends a fresh new perspective
- Quality of the samples and production in general is excellent - I especially like your choice of break. The break is also well mixed and never gets overbearing.
- Harmonically very solid - D flat minor feel is subtle but constant, also slightly ambiguous with the bass often resting on an A - I like that the root note isn't constantly played
- As far as criticisms, I agree the sub could be more prominent.
Overall, very sleek and understated, top effort.

pad sounds very similar to Dubstar which I just commented on. Ever listen to VANGELIS!!?? I am digging this mellow relaxed feeling tho got me chilling in my seat hahaha. somehow Im hearing that the pad and the bass dont go well together at all. you need to fix that phasing and weirdness. Cool sax but its too high passed and thin, make it beefier or something. Drums get a little monotonous get some edits and variation on them to make me go wow. Other than that the mix sound good to me.
well done. i love how you managed to arrange a just a couple of sounds into a long song that does not get boring - this is THE art of creating a good song structure. maybe nothing extremely innovative but truly amusing.
now a little analysis: the delayed sample at 0:36 chews up the beat a little, i think. maybe it would be nice to give it a little more frequency spectrum just for that moment - or just a rhythmic rest?
i have noticed some 'notch' in the snare sound. that is not necessarily a bad thing, but it sounds a little "hollow" - just to let you know.
i see ( well... hear xD ) this track as a dance piece with the beat well up front - combined with that chill spacey atmosphere it would probably sound best played in the early morning
for a moment i thought the drum programming was a little over-intense (like: too many notes) but now i am starting to see it as the tune's advantage - it would give it a nice 'edge' when mixed live.
the beat itself surely does groove, no doubt about it. keep in mind though that with it having so many notes and layers, it does not "breathe" anymore. i mean that sometimes it is nice to be able to hear every individual sound in the song without effort (they say "less is more").
another similar thing is dynamics: the way the beat is compressed in this piece makes it an instant dance tune - but it also makes the ghost notes just slightly too loud for an engaging listening experience, at least in my opinion.
well since i tend to be rather personal than objective in my reviews, let me tell you that i did enjoy the track overall.
