Spent too long on this now so prob gonna be final version, been chipping away at the mix for weeks now and cant take anymore....criticism welcome, still not sure about the level of the sub and have listened to this on so many different systems that i cant bear to hear it anymore or i may go insane and tear my ears off...(lol slight exaggeration there)...lemme know what ya think

twisted bassline. the sub bass doesn't seem to be as full and rounded and seems to be a bit more boomy, but it's still going on fine. not much layering for a dark track. picking up a bit more at 3:00.
i'll be honest it sounds like a pro song. yea, nice.
good stero mix, other then the bass it was fine, and the phazer effect ont eh drums i didnt like,

cheers for the review man, any suggestions for the sub bass then? struggling to get it sitting compfortbaly in the mix, at the mo ive got a fruity bass boost at bout 82hz and izotope trash adding slight distortion to it, does it need eq'ing more accurately or something added to enhance it?

likin the intro for starters very nice fx. i like the little bass in the lil breakdown too some cool bass edits but i think it takes too long to drop i hear whats been said about the bass though i do like it i think the mix just lackin a bit of punch compressing the bass and a nice cut at 30 is should do it i reckon flows quite well 2 man the fx that come in around 3mins though i dont like too much the breakdown sounds a bit too similar to the intro man needs something else just to define it a bit i think the highlights for me are the bass just needs more punch as i said before cool track though man some good fx too
The drops are great but the rest could be better I reckon. The mix has a slightly strange sound to it. Sounds a little hollow to me, it's lacking meaty depth. This is especially noticeable on the beats. They sound a bit thin and small. You said you've finished tweaking this now but I would recommend you turn up the beats a bit, add a touch of stereo panning and put them through a compression to boost them. The kick just isn't thumping enough at all. I do love the melodies in the drops tho. That bassline is really, really nice.

thanx for the comments on the tune man, much appreciated......how can i beef up the mix in general, espeically the beats? are you saying the beats are too small and weak and its taking away the impact of the tune or are there probs with other elements in the mix?....btw im not arguing about your review or trying to knock down any of ya comments, i really do want to get this right.
ez seph well i was already impressed with previous versions so no critique on the arrangement - its sweet man
mix i hear where tomos is coming from, the bass seems to dominate (just a tad, we're only talking minor tweaks here) and the drums seem to get drowned only slightly, have u tried new york compression maybe to get em to crunch more? (i haven't used that technique myself but just a suggestion). maybe u can also try get a little more low end in ur kick and snare and a bit more midrange in the drums, this could help the drums have more overall impact. last suggestion as another alternative (hope i'm not waffling lol) - try reducing the basses slightly (turn em down a notch or take out some of the lower frequencies) to give the drums more room to breath - then boost the overall mix
as i said tho man, this is a sick sick tune, best part is that edit where that sub comes in BOOM BOOM!!
oooohhh that drops heavy , nice , but the whole begining sounds too weak , not enough power to it , the kik is way too flabby and a bit to processed too much eq ing on it , , needs some weight to it !!
he he , yeah i get like that with my tunes , hear it too many times , and seems to get worse the more u hear it , yeah the sub on the ends of the bars seems to come in too strong over the rest of the track , nice ideas , sorry to say still needs alot of attention which i dont think u can take !!
Good ol'amen and tearing basses. Track could have been a tad more agressive if the kicks,snares and basses would have been a tad more punchy and loud and with a tad more hi end on them. Overall track volume could be boosted a little to get more impact. Very good stuff though.
