ez , can someone help me , ive done a dubstep remix of an old skool tune , ive ripped the main sample and the bassline but ive done everything else myself , and there quite simple samples , nothing complicated , but they fit so perfectly , its a really heavy track !! does anyone know what the best way to go is , about trying to find out how much the originators of the track take from u if u release a tunes that has got samples off of there tunes , a sort of average price ??
well as we've said before unless ur gna sell loads and loads of records the original artist may not be too bothered. in terms of prices i beleive it varies depending on what the original label / artist who own the rights would agree to (so only way of finding out is contacting them and asking)
Yeah, get in touch with the label, some won't be bothered at all.
I know some one remixing a big old Moving Shadow track. They want 50% of sales, reason being, they consider you making a name for yourself by using an established labels song... Not sure if they will release it, but the mix is pretty cool.
Then again, if your only thinking of pressing a few copies...
