What about the names you like Matt but with a Slovak spelling??
I like alot of english names in Polish, and the sound of them too.
Just a thought..

Yeah we thought about that a lot and there are loads that I like that when pronounced in Slovak sound nice but when said with an English accent just sound terrible ie, denis, boris, patrik, jozef, tomáš, albert etc
Would be cool if I knew people would pronounce it right, but if we're going to be living in a english speaking country then I know it's not gonna happen, and the child is gonna have to go through life saying 'no actually it's......"
I like Roman, but I can just imagine my mum in portsmouth being like "row-man? you mean like julius caesar??" lol

we got girls names down but boys just seems so much harder. I don't like as many boys names as girls names. |
Mate...this is sooooooo exactly the way it was for me.....We got 2, boy n a girl and it went down like that both times.....even the boys names we had when my daughter was born we'd gone off by the time my son came along 5 years later......I feel your pain man
|

I won't be asking my woman this much about the names, especially if it's a boy.
Anyways, I want to name the first boy whatever I want, without any troubles, and I leave the rest of the children to her.

Classic south-slavic name.
I noticed that many of the 'westerners' on the board suggested many slavic and/or east-european names. Interesting...
