Please check out my new track 'Sidewinder' and post your comments here!

An old track that I revived...have yet to fully revamp the EQ's and mix...Any opinions would be really appreciated!

Thanks Mates!

Cool pad'd intro, needs to be cleaned up a lil bit, and add some diff reverb to it. The bline sneaking in at around 0:40 is cool, it takes up to much space, definetly the bline and break have to be worked with EQ wise to get a better sound out. Liking the shuffle before the break down. WOW, OK the drop at 1:40 was unexpected in 2 ways. It dropped out of nowhere, I thought the breakdown was still going and wham it popped in. #2 way is because I really like it from 1:40. Just work out the EQ'n and maybe rethink the structure of the tune, and your all good

RespeKt!

not sure what ur trying to go 4 here , it sounds about 150-160 bpm to me , so not sure what genre it is dubstep or dnb , the beats a bit flabby u need some sub underneath ur main bass and beat , and some splash on the snare !!

Too slow for my taste.
Muffled mixdown. Mixing and EQing need a LOT of attention here. Kick a snare are not really doing the job.

Hey thanks a lot for these simple words of advise. Yeah I worked on this track for God knows how long refusing the "learn" about music because I was afraid it was going to ruin my creativity, just pure ignorance. Its unfortunate I wasted so much time in the dark when I could have been constantly improving. You live and you learn. I'm going to go back rework the structure and re EQ and mix everything with my new found skill. Thanks again.

For most people, this isn't something you start and are immediately awesome at (unless you're spor). It requires a lot of patients, perhaps even more than say learning to play the guitar, bass, trumpet, whatever.

I've been producing regularly (20 hours a week+) for about 9 years and feel I'm just now starting to come into my own.

When I started playing bass guitar, it only took me about 2-3 years to get to a point where I felt I was pretty good, but production has so many tiny little facets that its pretty much a life long endeavor... you can always be better... there's always more to learn.

The funny thing about a lot of successful producers is that it seems like they come out of nowhere and are awesome, but the truth is usually that by the time you hear about them they've been in the game for 7-10 years already.

The alternative is you could produce beats for American Pop Rap artists. That doesn't take any skill really... just an 808 and some random piano or synth stabs.

Big Grin

yeah dont worry , ive done the same as you and others , i used to be so lazy , i produce all the time day in and day out , i was very lazy and i just wanted to have a tune , but its hard teaching ur self with no one to tell u what u r doing wrong , but it all works in phazes and just just when u want to give up , u find out something new and then u just keep trying , just before christmas i used to tell meself that i couldent get dnb right but something just clicked and now im starting to see a massive improvment in my tunes , so just keep trying , and what i did , i hate reading i get really bored with it , but look on utube and other sites 4 tutorials , try to take it all in , and what listen to what the better producers say , and 1 day it will click mate Smile !!
