Please check out my new track 'By Your Side' and post your comments here!
Ez folks
Just finished this one
No confusion in this tunes identity like I normally have (somewhere between neuro and liquid???) This one's very definately a slice of liquid funk
First tune I've ever completed using Ableton Live. This was done with Live 6 and reason 4. Any comments on how this production sounds vs my previous tunes (which were all done with SX3 or Nuendo 3) much appreciated as well as any other comments about any aspect of the production
think the little lead synth could do with a bit of something like delay or reverb. dunno really maybe just a bit of chorus
the drop is stereotype and vocal is overused but thats personal pref.
got depth for sure. I imagine the part after the 3:30 mark could do with a highpassed beat underneath since it doesnt really slam when you bring all the elements back
no revolutionary stuff but it sounds quite alright. quality tune
Sounds pretty phat to me man. Nice laxed rollin tune and love the sweeps you goin on. Nice atmospheres and vocals used. PHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT love it bro. Can't add to it cos you way ahead of where I'm at. huge respect.
ez man, u ditchin nuendo and on to ableton now?
hard to do a fair comparison as its a different tune altogether but from what i can hear, maybe the new set up (or is it just ur production? haha) seems to suite the liquid vibe very niceley as some of ur previous stuff may have been too heavy (in terms of beats) for the combo so definately feelin the liquid rolliness mate
this ones got the commercial appeal for sure, all well produced can't really spot anything critique wise, rides work really well
love the gating on the vox (what did u use to acheive that out of curiosity?)
around 3:50 i think maybe just a couple more atmo bits to keep it going, a bit minimalist for my liking
but overall very very nice here man, got hospital aaaaaalll over it
big ups!!!

Temporary Software issues kinda forced me into ableton but am actually loving it, especially for fx automation and transitions n ting
The gate was done with abletons volume envelope editor, just cutting the volume to 0 in alternating slices
Yeah @ Ketz and Cynik - this is pretty commercial sounding but when I was putting the tune together it was obviously gonna go that way so I went where the music took me
first lead line needs more movement. or needs to sit better in the mix. maybe a little reverb, more of a tail. good tune tho. flows really well. "il be by your side" bit...good synths underneath.
Think it needs a little bit more high cymbals more splashy stuff.
breakdown could do with more atmosphere.
Good tune!!
big tune substance style and a banging feel well mexid absolute banger. keep this up sounds pro flows well and the vocal works with the rythm soo well you got myspace you gotta let me have it. good break. theres not much more i can really say as i think i have ppretty much summed it up keep oit up man sicko
Wow, this is nice. Very commerical. The vocals are super and fit like a gloove. Where did you steal them from?
Compared to your previous tunes on SX3/Nuendo 3... I can't actually tell much difference between them tbh. I would still be able to tell this tune was from you if I wasn't told it was you beforehand. Your beats have a distinctive sound. You seem to use the same pack in most tunes? I'm not complaining because it sounds very good. As usual, your melodies are really strong and definitely the highlight of the tune. This is certainly a liquid funk tune. It's a style you should do more often, if this is anything to go by.

lounging on the low low. Drums come in really nice and the vocal works well. that little stab noise over the bass could be a little more exciting or delicate, just not enough there. The drop needs more tension. I really want to anticipate it and when it hits I wanna get excited. Again the vocals are great. Could use some more drum edits and one more bass layer for texture to really get it popping. Mix sounds good. Just needs a few things to really catch my ear in rejoice.
Wish I got to get on the boards more but my internet access is pretty irregular in Florence.
Very nice tune in the style of High Contrast. Beats are solid and the elements work very well together. The second drop is very nice.
Ableton seems to suit you pretty well.
My only complaint is that the "I'll be by your side" quote gets a little repetitive, I think if you could do a little bit of syllable chopping like in High Contrast's "Barcelona" Remix the effect could be really cool.
Pads and atmos very nice as per usual.
Good work, I'd love to listen to this track while wandering around the city.
this might be the second time i have come back to listen to this and tell ya that this tune is big mate i cant get enough its fukin rude you make the drums in reson or ableton easily the best tune i have heard on here

Hey mate, congrats, this track is really good. Sounds pro even from the beginning. I only found a little disappointing the bassy synth that came in at 0.44, I think it's too simple, and I don't feel it fitting right in the track. Later, when the track builds up, it is ok. Nothing else to complain, the mastering feels ok (I am listening on headphones at this moment).
After the first listen, (been a while ago) I didn’t like the tune too much. Didn’t really know why as nothing is wrong with it; neat production, drumming, melos, sounds aso...
But that "I'll be by your side" vocal plus the synth-melodies just stayed in my mind. Real catchy! Couldn’t get it outa my head for a few hours, catchy stuff. And I started to like it, now I really do.
