So I'm planning to replace my 7 year old Medion (its only computerish anymore) to a better computer, and I thought that a laptop would be easier than a desk-computer.
Are there any good laptops for producing dnb?
In a price range of 800 euros tops (about £800 or $1000 I think).
ask yourself....'will I REALLY use it somewhere other than my house/studio/bedroom?'
And if so how much will you use it outside?
I say this because for the price of a decent laptop you can get a more powerful desktop plus you can fit more storage into a desktop aswell as do more upgrades in the future.
if you still really want a laptop check out http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ And click the link on the side where you can customise the laptop to meet you requirements/budget.

Totally agree with this. Unless you've got money to burn, try to go for a desktop PC. They are normally much cheaper and you'll get a greater amount of spec. If you're an FL user, obviously you'll be limited to a PC because FL only works on PC (unless you get Windows OS on the Mac).
I personally have a laptop. But that's only because someone else bought it for me and I do all my producing in my living room. I have a desktop PC upstairs in the spare bedroom but it's really cold up there and I can't watch TV while I'm producing either.

if you are going to go PC then go for a gateway or a toshiba. laptops are nice for portability and you can produce anywhere (plane flights ect.) desktops are wicked cheap these days (like 400 for a pretty powerful machine). If your going mac anyone is good hahaha.

you know the only reason macs around is due to anti-trust. if they own all the market share, the government gets to regulate them. or something like that. so Mac and PC are both really woned by both companies. they both have investments in both systems. now that intel is used by both platforms should REALLY be showing you. i mean Mac has Boot Camp. how much mroe do you need to see that they are working together. even the Mac ad's FEATURE PC.
you do not see ad's having there competitors in their ad's because that's called Cross-Marketing. but in this case, it makes sense. if either company does well, both sides get increase in stocks. or something of that sort.
it's why PC is staying computers and MAC's going into iPods. and other useless stuff, like making movies and pictures at home. Adobe Premier works FINE on fucking PC's. so does Microsoft Office works on MACs.

and Ableton not
i bought a toshiba satelite , solid and hard with decent ram and diskspace , around your budget
i wouldnt buy any more expensive as it only lasts 3 -5 years , if you plan to play livesets then its a good investment , but if its just for home entertainment then its bertter to buy a standalone pc wich lasts longer.
maybe buy a soundcard too , and save up for good monitors (alessis , genelec , mackie)

it's called Vista. before it was released, there was a preview of it that MAC developers saw. they pushed out OS X fast, with a lot of the features.
vista was still a couple of years away from release after.

.
What?!
I really question whether that's true but even if it is, Leopard and Vista are just not the same. I've never heard anyone claim before. But yeah, I wish you could run Leopard from Windows - and no, it's not called Vista!
