soundcards are FTW if you want to build robots that can shoot sound lazers. like that would rock, i suggest getting an Emu, or something with the DSP in it, soy uo can rock Virus like applications. eitehr that or get an MBox.

I just want to be able to run atleast 16 midi channels running different VSTi's without my soundcard glitchin. It seems that it is my soundcard mem, cause I disable 1 of the channels and its fine, and then I turn it back on and it starts gltiching. Plus, my physical comp mem is only at like 60%cpusage so I know thats not it.

I am rocking Terratec Phase 26 USB audio interface for about two years now and I am very satisfied!

You might consider Phase 88 or 28, they are great for producers. And are pretty cheap for the quality.

Just recently bought myself a NI AudioKontrol 1 loving it so far, nice and robust design is a plus. Look at the specs and what you need.

I can only recommend RME;

I bought the multiface 7 years ago and it's still rocking my studio

good quality, good support, broad choice.

emu 0404 i think it cost 50 quid and you get direct monitoring wich gets rid of all latency when you do eventually manage to set it up Big Grin

+1 for the RME.
Been rocking the Fireface400 for a while now and no problems what so ever.
My friend also bought one recently and reports no problems as well.
We're both rocking the soundcards that the chaps at Steinberg use and I reckon this helps ALOT.
I used to own m-audio, emu 1820m, motu 828mk2 and I must say that nothing compares to the stability of the RME. Rock solid baby!

whats your budget?

i use a Saffire LE only difference between LE and original Saffire is a DSP chip for plugins. has 8 outputs and 6 inputs pretty sweet. very stable, sounds crisp and clear.and has the original focusrite preamps. costs around 170 - 180

or u can get a EMU card which is very good

RME cards are very good. well worth the money.

M audio 2.

i think firewire soundcards perform slightly better than usb. but its your choice.
