don't you go saying "evolution is just a theory, man". in the scientific world, starting with Sir Issac Newton, he proposed that all scientific ideas should try to be disproved, to help grow and evolve all theories. from there, using evidence and reason almost every theory has been disproved and improved upon.
With this said, in the "scientific community" the term "theory" is the equivalent of a law. No theory exists without empirical evidence. No theory exists without proof. No theory exists without a method that other can preform and draw the same conclusion on.
Gravity is just a theory.
Electricity is just a theory.
The same can be said for any profession, where a term like flange can mean a long piece of metal, or 2 electronic signals delayed and played back on top of each other. Same with the term theory, it's context sensitive.
Charles Darwin was NOT the first to propose the idea of the evolution of species. Nor was he doing it to disprove God. Darwin is heralded as the father of the theory of Evolution, with is book Origin of Species, not because it was a good read, because it's not, but because it's so full of observations of evolution in nature.
Darwin had more evidence then any other person at that time about evolution. Empirical evidence that was documented, and proven, and was logical. In the scientific community, without a doubt, the strong majority believe that evolution exists. I don't mean the term believe, as in faith, to know something without any evidence or proof. I mean believe in the term, there is outstanding proof. beyond shadow of a doubt.
On top of this, on a side note, Darwin knew before he released this that it would cause a great disturbance for religious people. His wife was very deeply religious and he knew that this conflicted with what everyone else thought. It caused him great grief. This is why he chose to document so much evidence then just come out and make a claim.
Now the only creature that doesn't follow the law of the survival of the fittest is humanity. We do not have strong claws, tough hides, nor sharp sense, relatively. We are mainly so strong because of advanced communication methods and being able to document and pass down knowledge.
Each generation does not just continue from the new and adapt based on instincts. We can CHOOSE which knowledge and skills are important. We do not use random genetics to pass on information. We can harvest the experience of hundreds of our kind.
So we have homosexuality, there's a guy out there with 2 dicks, and another person that's got an allergy to light. and people that can't clot wounds after they get hurt. they procreate and pass on these genes. our sick or weak by any standard are not killed off. It will exist in the gene pool whatever causes this. Organisms follow the law of random mutations.
Side note is this probably explains the so called "missing link", evolution is not always and in fact RARELY a gradual change. only with slight deviations in a species, but if a new species was created, it would be as sudden as having a second dick, for example.
it would not be that over generations there was a second dick and it became more apparent. it would happen within a single generation. then from that if it was such a great advantage it would procreate greatly, and then variations would appear.
homosexuality is not hereditary, but it is rarely by choice, and if it is by choice, then there is usually GREAT mental anguish behind it. there is no reason to be little anyone for those reasons. and especially for biblical reasons.
here's a good reason why religious allegories has been taken so far out context of it's origins.
