what is the best way to master a tune on reason everytime i try it sounds poor
u spend hours making a tune and then ya record it to audio and BANG u get yaself one shit sounding song i understand the basics of compression and would like to hear everyones ideas ?
hello mate, if ur just starting out i would not worry too much about mastering yet, i would focus on getting ur mixdowns sorted (eq / levels) that is the most important thing imo
one thing tho - ur on reason 4 right? always make sure u bypass the default mastering suite - it has a limiter on there can that can suck the life outta ur tunes
so i should run the mixer straight into the hardware interface ? or initalize the combinator
cuz it sounds pretty crappy at the min its annoying i know it shouldnt sound so bad
all u gta do mate is go the the combi default mastering suite and select "bypass" (where it says on / off / bypass theres a little switch on the left hand side) job done

export the entire track and use another program.

that's the hard part of mastering, to be hones ti use Voxengo, it's vst stuff, with a lot of latency, but works well for ned of track mastering, a lot of hgih quality stuff for PC only, with adaptive high sample rate qualities.
but to master you have to know a lot about sound quality. this is completly different then mixing. it's not about making the music, but about making a recording. the same mastering skills can be used for gangsta rap as it can be speech about doves. they'd have different purposes mind ya.
but yea, something like Adobe Audition, with the Voxengo mastering suite plugins is what i use. to master them outside of FL Studio or Reason is good, because they "colorize" the sounds with algorithms. FL studio at least gives a choice, reason is standard.
so it's best to mix down all the tracks in reason to another program, cubase, or neudeno would work because they support rewire. but it's probably best any program that will give a clear sound, which is mainly anything but fl and reason.

you know when u say don't use the eqs and maximizers etc. do u mean at the end with the overall mastering suite, or in general, cos i use them to get 'the sound' that i want for the individual bits of the track. I might use a maximizer or eq on of the specific sounds for example to get it to sound right...
ill try the acoustic suite, wat kinda dnb do u produce brucifer?
im making dark tech step it sounds fine threw my headphones they have a clearance of 10hz to 28khz with a low frequency boost,
culdnt i make the tune go threw my speakers at them frequencies only, might be a stupid question but im new to producing so wat the hell lol
