Okay so ive got off my arse and im gonna start doin pro tools courses again.....problem is i havent got access to pro tools now im not at uni and could really do with it to brush up before the exam...........ive got a carillon pc with an emu 0404 soundcard built in....to run pro tools i need an m-box (or any other card thats compatible with pro tools, but prob going for m-box)....is it possible to use this for running pro tools and use the emu 0404 for running fl studio, sound forge, vsts etc.
Im guessing you cant do it at the same time, but is it poss to switch between the two. my only worry is will this affect how my pc reacts at all? will it cause any problems with drivers or the sound? not really too clued up in the sound card department and dont wanna jump into something without some feedback off you lot.....anyone currently running pro tools aswell as another seuquencer or something similar to the above?

think thats my longest post ever..... Big Grin

why are you so keen to hang on to the emu?

If its just because of the extra connections sell the emu and get the bigger m-box

You should be able to use the mbox for both FL and soundforge

on the computers at uni i can use reason and cubase through the m-boxes so im guessing fl and soundforge would be fine.

Might be worth emailing digidesign to ask.

Or check the DUC @ http://duc.digidesign.com/

Hope that helps Wink

But i don't think i'll be too much trouble having both drivers on your pc

the emu is internal and i kinda just want it to stay there....dont wanna mess around with the inside of the computer as i bought it pre-tweeked with the inside designed in a certain way etc, dont really wanna touch it cuz im likely to f**k it up........bit of internet reaserach has told me it should be fine running one internal sound card and an external one so im just gonna go for it i reckon........nice one
