I use a usb audio interface called a Lightsnake to record through my pedals. But you can run it through your computer's mic/line in input if your sound card cam record cleanly with no noise.
You can't output individual tracks from ableton to a hardware effect pedal and send it back. It is just not possible. You can record the output ,through your pedal, from your computer. If you have another way to record it.

I have a Alesis Firewire multimix12 interface. so that should be fine.

So what you saying is i cant use my pedal as an effect on any channel, i would have to record my output which is running through my pedal and rig it back to my interface and record? is this what you mean? sorry a bit confusing

I'm pretty sure you can. We ran a drum rack through a Line 6 POD. you gotta set up an I/O on the channel you want to be affected. I can't remember how exactly but it's possible. I'll speak to my mate (he's the techy genius) and get him to explain at some point.

Sorry, I guess I never used multi-track audio interfaces.
