Please check out my new track 'Vectrex - 8-bit Steppin'' and post your comments here!
Always wanted to use some Nintendo 8-bit sounds. Well I finally used them, but now I'm stuck... I can't figure how to let the track go on... I want to finish it.. but no succes as far.. any ideas? Had a lot of fun creating the ambient steppin' intro.. :-D Some sounds probably don't fit completly right in the mix but I will do the mastering as soon as the track is ready..
Man I love those computer game sounds! It shows that you've paid a lot of attention to the intro and it to me it sounds amazing! I think this is one case where the phrase "start as you mean to carry on" could be appropriate. I think it needs a little breakdown before a drop and then just introduce a huge subby bass and bigger drums. It's got that dubstep sound where in a lot of cases simplicity is your best friend. Introduce a few drum change ups maybe, but you definitely have enough sounds (melodic element-wise) there to create a whole track without the need to introduce any more except a big sub. very impressed with this one.
yeah nintedo all the way! (i got a soft spot for any thing nintendo being an NES head when i was a kid haha)
ideas are cool on this, whole tune is a bit quiet so im sure u'll sort it out with the master
kick could really thud thru a lot not big enough yet imo
main ideas are there just needs to be stretched out a bit, add a few more elements (maybe more fx etc) and just play between ideas seems like theres not too much left to do to get the arrangement finished
