Please check out my new track 'Drop N Bass' and post your comments here!
This is the second track I have done in 4 days.I really can't stop with this MAC PRO. It has made producing 1000 times more fun and effective.(Sorry for the rant)
This track has that TC/Dillinja vibe with mabey a touch of neuro and liquid. All is done in Live 6 with Massive,Microkorg, samples and my ART mic pre on the HP bassline.

First off that carbone rev tom sound has been used to death! You haven't even changed it slightly. Doesn't run for too long tho so that's good. The vox sample is cool but feedback on delay is maybe turned up too much and delay time is too short.
Deffo got a tc/dill vibe on the bassline.
One of the sounds ( maybe the hp bass ) sounds a bit off ? might be that it's too high pitched.
The other carbone synth that comes in at 2:15 works well and adds a nice float. The breathy break (another carbone) is nice but kick on that part sounds too harsh to me. Beats overall sound great tho. Nice and busy and good use of the off beat changes.
It might seem like i've pointed out a lot of probs but i did really like the track overall!

I just picked up the pack yesterday, so I got a lil carried away. But I'm happy to see you picked up on that.
In the end the track only took a few hours, it was more about the mix down, efx's and separation of the different elements.

I was the same when i got the carbone disc last year. I rinsed those samples to death!! only just going back to them now. Some great sounds there but they've all been used soooo much i dont use any of them flat.
Yeah man. Focusing on the bigger picture .... overall sound is really good and mixdown well balanced.

The trouble with the DC samples is that they are so good, so well EQed and so distinctive that everybody has rinsed them to fucking death. No wonder you've made 2 tracks in 4 days - this one is filled with unedited samples!
The problem here is, they don't all go together very well. They sound like they're all doing their own thing. Also, there isn't much direction in this track. There's no distinctive vibe, it's a collection of samples layed on top of each other. Sometimes that method can work when you do lots of EQing and tweaking to make them sit right and make them unique. But I don't think you've achieved that yet.
Bigs up on getting the Mac, btw. I use one in work and they are really, really nice.
Btw, you didn't buy the DC samples did you?
You can find lots of them on the net for free.

Ok I haven't heard any of the DC samples (I steered a clear when every DnB/breaks/dance site mentioned them) so I wouldn't know what was what in that respect. I do know that the production quality on this tune is great, The mixdown is crisp as hell. I like the tune overall, although there is an awful lot going on the whole time.. even in the breakdown which is not really not really my style, but I think it's pulled off well here.
One thing I think is very important is taking a sample and making it your own, I'm not a fan of is using things straight out the tin so.. do that more
Good job tho!
..and macs are sick!
