Allo everyone.
Just thought it might be time to say this little bit of info for everyone on here.
0ok. As you may know, I'm not exactly the most conventional dnb producer on this site. If yu've heard tracks by me like Koncretize or Affliction, you'll notice it is most likely very unconventional drum n bass. I've benn gettin maybe a bit of some turndowns because I know kmost of you [if not all] are very straight foreward with drum n bass and like to flow with rollers, which is drumm n bass. I just want to let people on the dott.be know that what I'm trying to do is different. I'm sure there is much to be done in drum n bass, but to be quite honest, I think there is to0 much of the same thing goin on around. All these tunes I hear from Noisia, Phace, Misanthrop and all them peoples are relly sick, but it's coming to a point where I'm like 'Shit, it's all starting to sound too much like the same thing now.' That is why I think it is getting a bit repetitive, feel free to disagree. That's the reason why I listen to Current Value, Limewax, Counterstrike, SPL, and much more of them who are revolutionizing what is the dark experimental drum n bass. I like their tracks because they step completely out of the usual. They make their off beats and crazy sounds that you don't hear much in the usual style of dnb. It's almost maybe becoming a branchoff genre stepping out of drumnbass. That is why I , too, like to step out of the usual with my productions. I like to make every single one of my tunes as original and unheard as can be. May not be the best production skittlez as I am still learning much, but it is a step out of the ordinary. So I just wanted to let you peoples know what I am trying to do and you're welcome to share your thoughts as I am open ears.
Ez all,
Kryptofuckinglockathing... xD.

EZ,
I've always produced unconventional tracks, and had the same kind of falling out with mainstream DnB. However, trying to define a personal style is a long road of discovery. In fact, it may never end. I am lucky in finally refining my own work to the point where I am comfortable with it and it is being well received, but it took a lot of failed tracks along the way!
Personally, I don't connect with a lot of the dark DnB artists you look up to. But who cares? As long as you keep producing the kind of work you resonate with, that's really the important part. Nonetheless, don't assume people turn away just because of the genre you produce under. If you continue your exploration and put a bit of yourself into your work, people will sense that and respond to it.
Good luck.
EDIT- One piece of advice that has helped me out: Don't listen to the kind of music you want to create. Sample enough to understand the style, but anything past that brings you too close in- you copy rather than emulate. Instead search for other genres that have similarities but don't directly translate over. Then when you use those influences, they're a lot more interesting. If the work follows others, even if it's in a small subgenre, it will not be perceived as original.
