Please check out my new track 'Affliction' and post your comments here!
Well, I figured since I've been on a streak of 3 unsuccessful tracks, I will hopefully claim my redemption with this one. This is Affliction. ENJOY !! [I Cut The 2nd Drop For The Preview.]
Intro is cool, I like your e-guitarish lead. Lovin the speech sample, build up is full of suspense too, good job.
But after the drop? Ouch! Absolutely not my style! I would have come back to your lead melo from the intro with some fast drums and a sub bass but not with somthing comparable to what you’ve got now there… well that’s quite personal preference and your choice anyway.
Production quality is good, well EQ-ed, no trouble as far as I can tell…except for that you could make it a tad more heavy in the low frequencies overall.
My thoughts on this track are similar to Gregg's- good intro, nice tension building, but I quickly lose interest after the drop. You show some nice sequencing and production techniques but the section is way snare-heavy and sounds like a more forceful version of a drumline. Needs more low frequencies.
As a general observation of your work- it seems like you can produce rather quickly and you've improved a lot technically. However, I think your work would benefit a lot from more melodic development. If you vary the heavier sections with little melodic interludes, the contrast between the two heightens the intensity of both feelings. A good example is in metal- some drummers like to double kick through an entire song but the most compelling metal drumming happens when the drummer uses the double kick sparingly and in the right locations. I think if you work on varying your style in your tracks you could really end up with some interesting pieces.
This sounds like a death metal tune, it just needs some vocals and a sick guitar riff and it could be Emperor. Not really feeling it mate, a little too chaotic for my liking. The intro was good tho..
this isnt really drum n bass, but i still like it, very unique tune. after the drop nothing changes for 2 minutes though, but the part starting from 2:32 is really nice
ez Pytch ya heard this one last night, i'm definatelty feelin the intro more than after the drop (vocal is cool too
) but it seems to go from slightly melodic to just bang bang bang lol - tho if u were to pursue this style further i would recomend u try to generate some more interest in the drums with some type of shuffles, just something to create more movement as otherwise it will just sound like someone banging on a drum
Don't like the intro at all. But the drop. Well I quite like the drums. BUT, add loads of distortion and fuck them up. Heading into gabba/digital hardcore really. The sound quality is really weak, but I can see what you are attemting. Keep at it
Loved the intro. Instantly sounds good. Wouldn't change anything there. Drop is ok but it's just so bang-bang-bang. By the end it's almost a wall of high-pitched snares.
You really need to turn that bass up and work on the melodic side of things like Minas mentioned. I'd agree with him also that the drop needs more shuffles.
The end has lots of potential. Really nice melodies.
