hello, I am having problems with what seems to be bleed over. If I play a bass on one channel then a vocal on another the vocal volume seems to go up and down with the level of the bass notes. I also have this trouble with fx, I apply some fx to one channel and it effects other samples on another.
I am using an intel celeron 2.8ghz(single core) 768mb ram a c-media ac97 onboard( i think) audio devise
I know the sound card is shite
I used to use acid pro to produce d n b mix cd's and in places there was alot going on but everything was clear, I have infact just loaded a mix to check it was not my new headphones and everything is clear and defined.
hop esomeone can help

You really should provide more info. Can you render an .zip file with the project with issues (File -> Export -> Zipped Loop package) or some other test project which gives you the same problem?

Seems like a problem of the audio level of your individual sounds or the EQ of them. If you play a super load bass it is going to damage the other sounds. Turn the level of the individual sounds down and the problem should improve/disappear.
When applying FX the sound can get louder or grainier (distortion, overdrive,...) and cause the same problem as with too loud sounds.

yeh sounds like the bass is just too loud and its overpowering the vocal....try removing the mid/ high end of the bass and the low-end of the vocal and they'll sit in the mix better....if your lashing reverb over one element its going to effect the balance cuz the wet reverbed sound will seem more distant, making other elements more prominant....try using fx more subtly, or as sends (to get a consistant reverb size over all the effected sounds)...or good ol' eq can help everything gel a bit nicer....

If you started the project with the default settings, you might have a limiter/compressor (which is added automatically) at your master channel which modifies the sound like that. Try getting it off if it's there.
