Hey man,

to be honest, I’m not diggin this one too much. You managed the amen to sound quite hard but everyone has heard that sample so often that it is now, without any crazy editing or some really original adds, just boring . The second break in your intro is a nice idea to spice it all up a bit, but it didn’t do the job for me.

Your bass is also kinda simple and makes the low and sound muffeled.

No offence, but you should better close this project and leave it as some sort of test. I don’t think you could take it anywhere.

Keep it up! Happy

I'm pretty much with Gregg on this one.

Your production skills are improving a lot, and you do some nice sequencing here.

However, I think the bass is way too simple and uninspiring. When you use a sample as ubiquitous as the amen break, I think it should be coupled with a unique melody or style that gives it a new take- I'm not seeing that in this track so far.

DBL glitch VST in full effect....cheater Big Grin . Not really to sure what to think of this. If ur gonna call a tune Amensalism you need to come with waaaay more edits than just flutter and stutter glitching. Sit down and edit the shit of that amen and get a try to get a completly diff kinda sound out of the amen. The amen is the greatest way in my opinion to learn to edit properly, and then u can go off on normal breaks, like it aint no thang. I know from experience of waaay over using amens so, anytime I touch one now, I make it sound nothing like the amen everyone knows if you know what I mean. Junglism 101...booyah!

RespekT!

Yeah I gotta agree. I can't really see this one turning into anything too promising. If it's all out heaviness that you're going for, I think the key is to hold back slightly. I learned this from my days in a metal band, it's not about the drummer cracking every drum on 32nd notes or turning the distortion on the amp up to 11, its the layering of everything as a whole that makes the sound heavy. I can't really give much more advice because I still consider myself to be a newbie when it comes to producing DnB but that was one thing I could think of that could relate to every genre. Look at it as an experience tho. Many of the project files on my computer are 'experiences' lol

Wow! Like this mate. I used to love glitching stuff up. Might go back to it.

Right then. I reckon you should build some nasty skitzy background and drop you breaks over the top, like digital. Not to keen on the bass. If anything it is ruining the drums.

Nice 1 Happy

EDIT: How comes everyone writes the opposite to me! Seriously, this isnt amazing, but drums arn't that bad. Drop the rest and creat something new with it. Pretty much how all my tune come about! Big Grin
