1st attempt at something dubstep-ish...bass created from scratch using 3xosc...drums mainly from vengence packs (with a few other drum hits thrown in)...lemme know wot ya think...
Cool track mate, imo I'd add some quiet high-end tingly rides along the way
And make it a little bit dirtier sounding overall though that may just be personal preference.

Astrocyte - Kill em All, Track #10 from Team_174 "Off World" LP (FREE)
For a first effort, this is very good. The vibe is definitely dubstep, although it'd sound better if it was a little faster I reckon. I would definitely think about adding more kicks and hi hats to get the beats rolling more. They are a tad robotic right now and there's plenty of room to add extra elements in there.
Bassline is pretty good. I like the sound you're getting from the 3xosc. I'm guessing you've routed it to the CamelPhat plugin? It's EQed nicely.
I would add some more sound FX in there, like ClarkFader mentioned. Sounds a tad sparse during the main sections.
Overall, a good effort. I like you what done so far.

Great trackname, could be the name for a label
Lots of stuff going on in the intro, good thing. I like that. Bass kicks ass, like it a lot. Drumline needs more activity imo. Maybe after a couple bars you could add an extra layer of drums to make it a bit more active. Ace stuff, especially for a first try this is huge! Snare could be a bit more massive too.

thanks for the reviews peeps, will fill it out a bit more for a finished version, this is still a work-in-progress just wanted some re-assurance it was going in the right direction as im new to this whole dubstep thing.....oh and tomos, i actually turned my back on the camel phat for probably the first time in my life and fired up the psp nitro instead....really, really, good distortion plug-in...almost feel guilty for scrolling past the camel phat..
This is very good. Man theres a lot of Dubstep on here!! ha I do like all the sounds you have used in this tune. Everything fits perfectly and sounds very nice. I like the wobble of the bass it sounds awesome on my monitors. The structure of the track is very well done. I'd buy this track no doubt. It's got some very good elements like the little ride cymbal you've got goin on and the kick snare and samples are used to perfection. The arrangement is SOLID. good job bro good luck for more of your production i look foward to hearing more of it!!!
