i'm really new to all this so i hope some one can help, i've put an amen break in to recycle, set the markers to each individual hit and exported it as a midi file, then i've drop it into live 7, in the midi chanel i can see all the individual beats that form the bar and when i go to play it no sound comes out but i can see a yellow volume bar in the track going up and down to the beat, as if its playing but just on mute, am i missing something? all i wanna be able to do is edit the sequance, i can do it if i go into fruity loops and use the slicer, but i wanna be able to do it in ableton so i've got access at all times if i wanna move the beat around, so any help would be massive

The midi files doesn't contain the sound just the information about notes (slices in this case). You should to save each slices separately as a wav file. Then you can load them all to a sampler in live. This way you could edit the beats. If you need the original break you have to load the midi file into the samplers channel.
I hope this could help you. If not im sorry

thanks just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing something, that explains why there was no sound if it just imports the information rather than the sounds, ive managed to work it out in live using the sampler and then the zone function, many thanks
