can some1 tell me how to record audio from a dvd using audacity pls? i got 1.2.4. thnx

You should to set up the record source to stereo mix (in the windows mixer). This way you will record what you can hear on the speakers. Then you simply start the movie where you want and record it with audacity.
You could get better result by using a dvd audio ripper. I hope this could help.

One slight problem is if you're using a fairly new laptop with a mic built in then it will have the internal mixer disabled meaning all internal audio programs like audacity, cool edit pro (adobe audition), sony soundforge etc ...

and internal audio based spectrum analyzers like sperctrum analyzer pro won't pick up any audio as they'll be only picking up audio through your external mic - No Good.

You have to go into your audio config and disable the built in mic and tick a box for all devices or something can't remember - and activate your internal stereo mixer as the recording device.
