Please check out my new track 'Block' and post your comments here!
Just been reading 'bout the writer's block on the forum. Just got one while working on this track! Maybe you guys could give me some advice on how to finish this one except for the fact i should make it longer obviously ;-)! greetz pj
I loved your last tune, but this one sounds very messy and unfinished. It kinda sounds like an attempt at an Optical-style of tune, which is certainly a good thing. But the bass sounds way over-filtered. It has some strange stereo panning and what sounds like a very short delay effect, like it's being played in a small box room? Deffo needs more depth and growl. The beats during the intro are well programmed. I didn't like them once they dropped tho, they need more oophm. I'd layer them up a bit with a high passed loop that has lots of roll.

thanks for the comments! my bass indeed had some weird stereo panning (just like my pad actually :p) but i diden't notice it.. pulled a paz analyzer over it and indeed.. fixed it using the waves S1-imager.. the drums were allready layered with 4 chopped-edited-highpassed-funkbreaks but i pulled a bit up in the mix and indeed!
so thanks for the good tips! ;-) can i change the track by the edited version (which actually still is a preview 'cause it ain't longer than 41 sec) ? greetz pj

Do you mean, can you replace this tune with a new edited version? Absolutely. If you want me (or any other moderator) to delete this version once the new version is uploaded, just ask and we'll take it down for you. That would be better than having two versions of the same tune because it'll mean peeps will give comments on the new version, rather than waste time with the old one.

the first ten seconds of this is wicked and has very intresting structure imo. the synth that comes in after though has no impact at all. try layering it with a sub and a dirty ass mid range bass if you know what i mean.
