Ez all, an updated clip of 'Eyes' which I posted last week. Hopefully sorted out most if not all of the panning issues and overloud hats with the first clip. Few more bits and bobs added and some things altered. If the final mix is shit then my apologies, thats something I just can't get my head round yet! Cheers.

Compression! 
This version is much better, although it's still not perfect. There is too much compression for my liking. Everything has tonnes of attack and volume. It's still nauseating to listen to, even at a moderate level. My ear drums feel like they are being punished! 
The snare is particularly harsh and unforgiving.
What kind of techniques and equipment are you using to do your mixdowns and mastering?
The tune itself tho is wicked. No question about that. This could easily go on a Metalheadz album I reckon.

I have to agree with tomos on this, yes this tune is pretty good! I'm not sure its that outstanding to go on metal although you never know what could happen, Im sure you did a better mix that I made comments on?
I'm pretty certain this is a mastering problem and I think you should take your time with it as its by far the best tune you have come up with that I've heard, you could maybe give this a rest for a few days and try some new tactics on mixing this down, the only reason I'm making more comments is because I know a good tune when I hear it and I'm not one for letting any past bitching get the better of me, dude!!! work on this mix and il be as happy for you as your be.

The dominant open hat hits (from 0:26) are still a bit too powerful and they sound extremely unnatural and centered (mono) and cut off at the end.
Love the bass stabs, vocal could do with some trickery to make it more impressive. Good tension building, good atmosphere (pads). Love to hear this tune go into deeper and darker (but not harder) areas...

Not bad but i find this style of drum and bass a bit boring but just my personal opinion.Would still knod my head to it though!!
