Please check out my new track 'Bass Response (final, At Least For A While)' and post your comments here!
Yes yes, I know what you're thinking. He's uploading another one AAARGH! lol
This is the last one I'm puttin' up as I am moving on for now, added some intro bits n pieces and some stuff at the second drop.
Tried to take on as much advice as I can and
to InsidiousX for that tip regarding sampling the synths out otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do anything at all!
Cheers all and thanks again for all the input

yeh, took me a while to sort that intro... totally changed from before w/ those pads. Whole new atmosphere to it.
lol @the drums
.... I been fighting these drums the whole way - too tinny, too muffled
hehehe
The main break was notched before but it ain't now. Just my EQ'ing, needs a bit of extra work - bit more mids, bit on the thin side. Was trying to get more top end but I seem to have cancelled some mids lol
I'll get there
Yeh, pads are a bit on the quiet side, noticed it on the DVD system when I played it there - was fine on everything else!
Cheers fella!

ncie scratch fx in the intro, liking those, cool hip hop vibes...build up is cool....drums sound too flat imo, need a nice big padded kick and smashing snare to give em drive....not keen on that synth sound tbh...sub is quite deep and warm.....gated pad is way too loud to my ears, overpowers everything else....structure and arrangment is decent throuhout, mixdown needs some work and some of the synths dont really fit....not a bad tune tho....
I think the intro is the strongest point of this one. The drums are weak. You need a big boomy kick imo and one more snare layered. The track dont have a real low-end you should to make that sub heavier because its virtually silent now.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone, greatly appreciated as always.
The range of opinion (with regards to the mix) seems to vary with different setups.
I really need to get some headphones and stuff, thought I'd hit a lucky one today when a random payment for a logo I did months ago came through but its spent before I even clapped eyes on the cash
I will be leaving the tunage alone for a bit (including reviews) as my ears are buggered due to a stinking cold
Time to get reading!

To be perfectly honest, I made a total fuckup of this one.
I did certain things ie. sampled out some shit and brought them back in in nn19/XT's and forgot some EQing, panned some shit somehow that shouldn't be panned, adjusted the wrong levels here and there.
Well, I have a cold (thats my excuse, do you like it?) so my ears are shit and I'm er... sticking to that?
lol, no, lessons learned.
And I need headphones or something as trying to get anything right (its literally small-ass PC speakers I'm down to these days for real-time) is nigh on impossible so any changes I make have to be done gradually and then burned to CD then listened to and adjusted etc..
No excuses, I need to sort my setup out bigstyle.
Also @BattleDrone, yes, I was thinking much the same thing earlier (regards the whole direction of the track) I started out aiming for this oldskooly-jungly noisy thing but I've introduced these newer elements that are effectively another track; the first drop now seems totally out of place with the rest of it.
I am leaving this track and moving on with many, many lessons learned and am also grateful to everyone who's put in such honest opinions (not to mention encouragement).
Now thats waaaaaay to much fawning imo, sickly almost!
Cheers all!

drums are filtered too much i guess, but the programming is pretty wicked! not so keen on the buildup around 0:30. the programming is big, this song just needs to be more polished (more bass especially!). overal good job ;-)!
