Right then, every tune tune I put up, I get complaints about to much reverb!!!
My latest track has to much reverb according to Tomos. Is this really so, or have we been desensitised to a hard sounding sound lacking in the almighty reverb?
I have been a fan of jungle/d'n'b since 91, when it was hardcore days. The music was experimental then. ie, no complaint abouts reverb!!!!
Is tomos and a select few trying to create a 'neo nazi' campain against reverb, possibly, because they can't master it's magical powers? Could they be insecure about there reverb feelings? Could it be just plane old reverb hatred? Please explane yourselves...
Please discuss. Have you been part of Tomos's hate compain, or any other member of d'n'b dot com?
If you have been part of Tomos's cyberbullying, let unite and help create a better internet. We will have tea and biscuits at 11am gst to discuss tactics and have counciling.

Just to warn you however, as a dissenter of my worldwide Just Say No to Reverb campaign your name will now be black-listed and sent to the authorities of the Reverb Fraud Detection Squad. Your community and friends will also be subject to the psychological detection of all reverb-loving behavioural tendencies. Listening to the musically-corrupting influences of junglist and hardcore tunes from the early 90s is strictly forbidden and punishment will consist of the retrieval of all reverb-producing equipment.
Reverb: It's wrong and against the law.

Do you not think that because Tomos' tunes aren't drowned in reverb and it has been used subtly to great effect prove that he actually has mastered it?

Interesting point Jimmy!!
reverb is one of the most important subtle effects to use!!!, it acts a a "glue" in ur tunes, so u don't wanna smudge it all over the place, will make it sound all sticky n icky!
- ok you can all stone me now, admitted outcast reverb user
here's a really secret pro tip....i shouldn't really tell u all....use reverb on ur send effects!

lol! jokaz!
at the end of the day, tomos is only givin u some constructive criticism to help you better your tunes, maybe not for the benefit of yourself, but for the majority. Drum n bass is formulaed now. when you started listening to it, it wasnt. its like dubstep. year before last there wasnt really a formula. now there is one. highly reverbed snare, aprox 145bpm etc. see what im saying? In drum n bass today, the formula is not too much reverb
__ Forget liquid, jump up and darkside drum n bass is the way forward!

Nice reply. Although true, if you'll allow me to go slightly oot, formulaic isn't always the way to go - after all aren't we (well, not everyone, else we'd always be in a state of flux) supposed to be pushin' boundaries and experimenting?
Not that I'm advocating piles of reverb

mastering formulas gets you doing one thing perfect but totally takes away experimentation which dnb surely is NOT about. ok mainstream dnb is but who the hell cares for it
reverb surely can be used since it can be used to do loads of different stuff, you can always try. and try you should cause without it everything sounds the same with loads of people doing same things making their tunes.
BUT there are a few guidelines... you just cant wet the drums cause they sound flabby... it just takes a lot of space while suffocating the sound. obviously reverbing a subbass is totally wrong etc. reverb on master channel cant be good
what you can do if youre dying to put heavy reverb cause it makes your sound badass is take away the tail of the reverb (gate) and/or use heavy eq cutting so it sounds great in a particular frequency but its nonexistant in others, and so it doesnt use that much space
