does any1 have the same problem as me, trying to get a drum roll to fit with the beat?
im not tlkin bout builds but the roll at the end of a section b4 a break is familiar

Slice it, position the slides on the grid, it does take away the original groove, but at least it works.

sorry i should have been more specific, that question makes me sound like a complete idiot.
i can get it in time im actually tlkin bout getting the sound to fit.
ive tried layerin the hits from the break but sometimes i still cant get it sounding right. any ideas?

Imitate the structure with hits from the break if possible.
If the drum roll contains a major snare hit you could use that as your main snare to adapt your break to the roll.
Or you could also go for the total contrast programme and let the drum roll be something completely different.
