Hey Dnb People!
Aint posted anything in ages so i thought i'd add a song i've been working on. Isn't Anything special and the intro may sound empty cos i cant include any samples, but let me know what you think and how i can improve the song and my production techniques!!
hi Sozia, yeah I know your last tune had a great arrangement, mixdown was the only main issue
so intro is all good (i know u took out some of the samples), all progresses in a structured logical fashion
yeah defo feelin the drop, infact feelin ur style! boh
soz to sound like a broken record but the mixdown needs work, like BD said it sounds a bit muffled, a little muddy as well. i would love to hear you bring out some more his and hi-mids brighten things up, needs more "shine"
so nothin to complain about on the musicality and the arrangement - thats all sweet as, just sort out the EQ, separate everything out (as annoying as it is doing it lol it is essential at the end of the day) and you're onto a winner here
needs alot of work on the mixing side. intro could do with a bit more excitment may be some more darker pads in the background with a splash of reverbed vocals it just sounds a bit empty at the min imo. the main verse is good and catchy but needs bringing together. i like the bass maybe elaborate with that tho cause it gets a bit repetative.
not bad bro... however, I think it sounds a little "bottom heavy"... how does it look through an analyzer... I would suggest, redoing the drums with some more hi hats, cause right now it sounds like the snare has most of the higher frequency riding on it... I would also maybe put in a couple other layers of snare (to fill in a little more of the 500 hz range and add some punch) - other than that I think it sounds great... not my style but it seems to have great elements... some wob some strings/echo some snare rolls n' shit... clever...
maybe heighten the bassline's mid range to make it more pronounced...

"Clownstep is a derisory term, used by certain listeners to describe a certain style in a negative way, it's not a subgenre as such, but most producers would feel insulted by the labelling of their music as "clownstep"."
