white noise?? where can i get it?

i hear alot of people sayin put white noise behind your snares and i understand this but where the hell do i get white noise from???
maybe a stupid question but please sum1 answer it for me

You can generate it with audio editors like eg. Audition or Audacity too i think. Or you can find a sample on freesound.org or sampleswap.org.

in audacity:
click generate in the menu, choose noise, then select type of noise you want (white in your case) and the length of the sample you need, and click OK
It doesn't get much easier!

If you use reason, the subtractor ca generate all the " noizes " white pink brow etc, just turn down the osc when using it for noize only.

try google "white noise" lol man theres LOADS of samples out there that i use, all it is is that fuzzy sound when ur tv isn't playing

ive always found the free sample sites to be low in quality. i might try recording some from my tv

There are a lot of high quality samples on the sites i noticed. Only the preview is in low-resolution to be as fast as possible.

I just noticed that the signal generators in the latest beta version (1.3.5) of Audacity have been updated. You can now also generate logarithmic sweeps, where in the previous 1.3.4 version you could only generate linear sweeps (called 'chirps' in Audacity).

you can use use the 3x osc in FL Studio (its a built in plug) turn the volumes on osc2 osc3 down and pick the noise wave .. you're done..
